Meet the Team, Shannon McKinzie

Shannon McKinzie, Owner

In 2011 I left Corporate America after 16 years to open Top Dog. This has been a dream of mine for more than 25 years. I am so happy and thankful to be doing something I REALLY LOVE. I handle questions, scheduling, and phone calls that get you paired with the sitter that is the perfect fit for you and your best friend. I am also the back up for all of my pet nannies in case of illness and accident to make sure that all of our furry clients are taken care of.

Meet the team, Rosalee Dameron

Rosalee Dameron, Pet Nanny

In 2009 Rosalee retired from the fraud department of Sprint in Kansas City and moved back home. By 2012, By was bored to death and ready to work. She was offered the opportunity to pet sit and since she has always had and loved animals she decided it would be a great fit for her.  She currently has one dog, a teacup poodle named Tinkerbell. Rosalee says working at Top Dog has been one of her favorite jobs. The animals she has met have become family to her.

Meet the team, Courtney Wall

Courtney Wall, Pet Nanny

A lifelong resident of Fort Worth, Courtney has been passionate about animals her whole life. Before coming to Top Dog, she worked in the clipper business for 13 years. The clipper store sells all your clipper needs for Animals and humans and she worked with Animals by showing their owners how to use the clippers on their pets and miniature horses. She also worked with horses for the summer of 2019 caring for horses and as a trail guide. Courtney has been pet sitting for years for friends and family which included Dogs, Cats, Lizards, and a Parrot.

Sarah Wood

Sarah Wood, Pet Nanny

Sarah has been an animal lover all her life so when she retired from the medical field, she knew she wanted to work with animals. And we are so glad that did! Sarah has lived in the Benbrook area since 2003 and has been very involved in the community. She spends her free time with her 7 grandkids and her own pups Honey, a lab mix, and Lucky Lu, a chihuahua/Pomeranian mix.

Ann Andrews

Ann Andrews, Pet Nanny

Hi my name is Ann! I am a native Fort Worth Girl! I have been married to my husband Mike, for 33 years. We have 3 daughters, Ellen & Elizabeth (29) and Emma (25). We are a pet loving family. I have 2 dogs, 5 chickens, a Quaker Parrot, and a cat! My previous occupation was a pre-K teacher at Benbrook Elementary. I also run a small catering business. We recently chose Top Dog to take care of our animals while on Vacation. I was so impressed with the excellent care and attention our animals were given that I contacted Shannon to see if I could become part of her team! I look forward to meeting new clients and taking care of all of your pet sitting needs!

Robin Strachan, Pet Nanny

Robin worked at AT&T for 18 years before her office closed in 2018. She had the joy of being a stay at home Mom to her 2 amazing children. Now with her kids full-grown, it was time to get back out there. What better way than spending time with FURRBABIES. Robin has had both cats and dogs throughout her life. At present she has 2 rescue pups named Leelah and Daisy, both are Heinz 57 mutts and are completely spoiled rotten. She loves all animals and will love your babies as if they were her own.

Phillip Van Horn

Hi, I’m Phillip. I’ve lived in Benbrook for the last 15 years with my wife of 21 years and two teens. I also have three dogs, a 70lb boxer bulldog, and two chihuahuas. I am familiar with the varying needs of small to large-breed dogs. I love being outside in nature and you’ll often catch me on the river trail walking my big dog for 8 miles at a time. I understand that our pets are more than just pets and that they are as close to us as our own children at times. In addition to being a dog walker for Top Dog, I have been employed with the railroad since 2012. I had a 15-year career in law enforcement prior to working for the railroad.

Robyn Danielson

Robyn is a Texas native, and was raised with countless dogs, cats, turtles, and fish. Her mother instilled her love of animals in her, always rescuing strays and helping animals in need. And she always named her rescue cats after celebrities–Elvis, Dolly, and ZsaZsa, to name a few! She has lived in the Fort Worth area for almost twenty years and is mother to a 16-year-old son and to a rescue chihuahua mix, Noodles. She is currently a teacher and private tutor and is excited to join the Top Dog Team.

Hello, I’m Andrew. I’ve lived in Fort Worth for practically all my life. I went to Southwest High school, and UTA. I’m a communication major that loves conversation. I’ve been in the food industry all my life, and finally wanted to branch out! I’ve always loved pets of all sizes, I’m a wizard with large dogs, and large number of pets so I’m never overwhelmed. I’m passionate about working out and being outside. I’m looking forward to bringing excellent trustworthy service to all pet sitting needs.

Angie Clegg

Hi, I’m Angie. Originally from northern California, I moved to Fort Worth in 2020. I have always been an animal lover, having many, many different types of pets growing up. My first job out of high school was at a pet bed & breakfast facility, where pets would stay when their owners were away for the day, night, or week(s) at a time. There, I learned how to properly care for and familiarize myself with the many sizes and breeds of cats and dogs. I have worked in customer service for 9 years, until I was blessed with a daughter in 2021. I have 2 senior kitties and a very adventurous yellow Labrador Retriever, named Meeko. I have grown to love Fort Worth, enjoying many days at the Trinity River Park going for walks and exploring the area with my dog. I am excited to meet new furry friends and help out in any way I can!

Michael Mendelsohn

Hello fellow animal lovers! I have long cared for our furry friends. I love them dearly. I have lived in the Fort Worth area my entire life except for the few years I was away in college. I have a degree in Biomechanics. I have a Husky. Her name is Dakota. She is basically my daughter lol. She wants to play with every human and dog she comes across. She is a free spirit for sure. I’m 39, I want the second half of my life spent paying back the animals that give us so much love and loyalty. I will protect your loved one as if they were my own. I promise you this! I need animals in my life to maintain my happiness. Thank you for considering me as a new friend to your furry one.
