Top Dog Pet Sitters Team in Benbrook and Fort Worth

Top Dog Pet Sitting Owner, Shannon McKinzie

Shannon McKinzie, Owner

In 2011 I left Corporate America after 16 years to open Top Dog. This has been a dream of mine for more than 25 years. I am so happy and thankful to be doing something I REALLY LOVE. I handle questions, scheduling, and phone calls that get you paired with the sitter that is the perfect fit for you and your best friend. I am also the back up for all of my pet nannies in case of illness and accident to make sure that all of our furry clients are taken care of.

Rosalee Dameron, Pet Nanny

In 2009 Rosalee retired from the fraud department of Sprint in Kansas City and moved back home. By 2012, By was bored to death and ready to work. She was offered the opportunity to pet sit and since she has always had and loved animals she decided it would be a great fit for her.  She currently has one dog, a teacup poodle named Tinkerbell. Rosalee says working at Top Dog has been one of her favorite jobs. The animals she has met have become family to her.

Cassandra Ford, Pet Nanny

I am Cassandra and have lived here in Fort Worth since 2004 with my husband and our 6 children (think Brady Bunch – his, mine & ours). All are adults with their own homes and lives now except the baby of the family who just turned 18 and graduated from High School in May 2022. She will be attending UT Arlington in the Fall to pursue a graphic design degree.

My husband and I own a small electronic repair shop (www.fixitplanet.com) in Benbrook just celebrated our 7th year in business. We have a plethora of animals including dogs, kitties, aquatic turtles, bearded dragon, leopard gecko and a veiled chameleon. In addition, we also have fostered for several rescues over the years including Saving Hope and Dallas Doggrr. Currently I only foster kitties and only those with medical issues for Saving Hope. I currently have 5 grandchildren and will be getting a new grandson in September. I love being a Gigi, love to travel and most of all love animals

Briana Welch, Pet Nanny

Hi, I’m Briana! I’m a lifelong Benbrook resident and graduated from Texas Tech University. I’m an animal lover and grew up having cats and dogs. I currently have two dogs: Mazie, a Red Heeler mix, and Quinn, a Lab mix. Mazie is a typical Red Heeler, always wanting to work and high energy, she and I have taken Agility classes in the past. I have fostered dogs through Love & Paws Rescue and Quinn is a foster-fail who I couldn’t let go of. I’m a Special Education teacher in Fort Worth ISD and work with students with moderate to severe cognitive delays. I am excited to join the Top Dog team and love on your fur-babies!.

Deanna, Pet Nanny

Hello my is Deanna. After 26 years as a Project Manager in Telecommunications, I decided to pursue my passion of working with pets. I have four dogs, Lily who is a Pitt terrier, Dee Dee, a doberman / lab mix, Zaharra is a Catahoula and Buddy Rogers is a Pitt. After fostering Buddy Rogers through Dallas Doggrr, he stole my heart, and I ended up adopting him. My two Tuxedo cats are named Buddy and Gigi (brother and sister) rescued from the SPCA. My husband and I moved to the Mustang Park area in 2019 and have enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife in the area. I am super excited to join the team at Top Dog and look forward to meeting you and your precious fur-babies.

Helen, Pet Nanny

Hi! I’m Helen McFall and I was born in Fort Worth and lived here much of my life. I graduated from St. Edward’s University and TCU. Afterwards, I taught Sp. Ed. middle school and am now retired. My wonderful son and daughter have married, have great families and are very busy. Currently, I am a master gardener, swimmer, and knitter. I enjoy cooking, reading and being outside. Last March my sweet 14-year-old standard poodle went to doggie Heaven, and I miss his curly hair, our long walks and fun times. I think that is one reason I wanted to be part of the Top Dog family. I’m very excited to be working with their great team and look forward to making your pets happy and enjoy their time away from you.

Sophie, Pet Nanny

I’m Sophie, I’m currently a freshman at UT Arlington majoring in Graphic Design. When I’m not at school I work part-time as a kennel tech at Southside Veterinary Clinic. I have been around animals since birth. As an infant, I learned how to stand by using our 125-pound family dog to help balance. I have experience with a variety of animals including dogs, cats, reptiles, and rodents. My family has fostered for several large rescues located here in DFW and currently run our own small 501c3 rescue. I currently am a mom to three dachshunds who are my children. I love dachshunds, the color pink, and all things kpop.

Anna, Pet Nanny

Hi! I am Anna. I am currently a student at University of Texas in Arlington majoring in social work. I grew up in Fort Worth. But I lived in Colorado for many years. But I moved home from Colorado about seven years ago for a transplant. My transplant inspired me to change careers so that I can help others that deal with disabilities. I previously worked as a bookkeeper and am now focusing on animals and their ability to help us humans. I also volunteer for Fort Worth Animal Care and Control at their Petsmart in SW Fort Worth. I walk pups and help dogs and cats find new homes. Doing this has helped me learn that all animals are capable of love. I’ve been volunteering since 2021 and it’s one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life. I am a cat mom of two, Kiki and Lily who are 15 and 16. They are happy, loving and healthy kiddos.

Marlene, Pet Nanny

My name is Merlene Andrew. Prior to joining the Top Dog Team I pet sat for 9 years. I have lived in Texas all my life and have been in the corporate world. I got started pet sitting after my husband passed away. My friends could tell how lonely I was and asked me to sit for them when they went on trips and before long, I had a full-time business. I learned that pets could help heal a broken heart and they gave me something to care about. Not only did I find a purpose, but I was outdoors and walking. I enjoy working with animals and giving them the feeling of security and love while their family is away. I can’t imagine a better life than being this.
