Top Dog Pet Sitting Owner, Shannon McKinzie

Shannon McKinzie, Owner

In 2011 I left Corporate America after 16 years to open Top Dog. This has been a dream of mine for more than 25 years. I am so happy and thankful to be doing something I REALLY LOVE. I handle questions, scheduling, and phone calls that get you paired with the sitter that is the perfect fit for you and your best friend. I am also the back up for all of my pet nannies in case of illness and accident to make sure that all of our furry clients are taken care of.

She was offered the opportunity to pet sit and since she has always had and loved animals she decided it would be a great fit for her. She currently has one dog, a teacup poodle named Tinkerbell. Rosalee says working at TopDog has been one of her favorite jobs. The animals she has met have become family to her.

Helen McFall, Pet Nanny

Hi! I’m Helen McFall and I was born in Fort Worth and lived here much of my life. I graduated from St. Edward’s University and TCU. Afterwards, I taught Sp. Ed. middle school and am now retired. My wonderful son and daughter have married, have great families and are very busy. Currently, I am a master gardener, swimmer, and knitter. I enjoy cooking, reading and being outside. Last March my sweet 14-year-old standard poodle went to doggie Heaven, and I miss his curly hair, our long walks and fun times. I think that is one reason I wanted to be part of the Top Dog family. I’m very excited to be working with their great team and look forward to making your pets happy and enjoy their time away from you.

Anna Hanstrom, Pet Nanny

Hi! I am Anna. I am currently a student at University of Texas in Arlington majoring in social work. I grew up in Fort Worth. But I lived in Colorado for many years. But I moved home from Colorado about seven years ago for a transplant. My transplant inspired me to change careers so that I can help others that deal with disabilities. I previously worked as a bookkeeper and am now focusing on animals and their ability to help us humans. I also volunteer for Fort Worth Animal Care and Control at their Petsmart in SW Fort Worth. I walk pups and help dogs and cats find new homes. Doing this has helped me learn that all animals are capable of love. I’ve been volunteering since 2021 and it’s one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life. I am a cat mom of two, Kiki and Lily who are 15 and 16. They are happy, loving and healthy kiddos.

Leanne Bochenko, Pet Nanny

Hi my name is Leanne. As a fur mom to two gorgeous Goldens, Nash and Noel. I found that I was having problems finding someone to sit with them while I went on vacation. Someone that would care for them and put my mind at ease. I have heard so much about Top Dog and their services that I decided to join the team. For 25 years I’ve had cats, gerbils and hamsters. I am a foster mom for Highway Hounds. I have also rescued ferrets for over 23 years. Taking care of animals is a passion for me because there is a genuine need for people who love their furry companions to know they are taken care of.

pet sitter and dog walker, Natalie Burton

Natalie, Pet Nanny

Hi! I’m Nat, a 22-year veteran of the veterinary medical field who is excited to meet your babies! I was born and raised here in Fort Worth, then went to college in San Antonio and graduated, then went in a completely different direction and got my degree – and later, my license – in veterinary technology. I traveled for a while before settling back home with my high school sweetheart and a variable number of cats. I love connecting with pets on their individual level and creating a bond through gentle interaction and respecting their boundaries and needs. Every pet is unique, and I pride myself on finding that special something that they need to feel comfortable and loved while their parents are away. I have experience with pets of all kinds, and am able to give medication your baby may need. I hope to meet you and your babies soon!

Christine, Pet Nanny

Hi! My name is Chris and I am an Iowa girl who recently moved here to Texas by way of Illinois. I graduated with a degree in History and Spanish, and later got my master’s degree at NMSU. After doing Museum work, I started my own online business selling vintage children’s books, which I love and still pursue.  I have a great love for all animals and have had a number of pets throughout my life, including dogs, cats, rabbits and parakeets. I am currently without any furry friends at home as I left behind Abby, a beautiful 12 year-old English Springer spaniel, safe at home in Illinois, and my dear cat Tobias who left this life in March of this year. I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets!
